April-June and September-October are the most balanced: mild weather and steadier conditions for balloon flights. July-August is very hot by day, though flights are unaffected because they go at dawn. Winter is striking under snow, but wind and fog raise the chance of a cancelled flight, so plan at least two nights in the region if you come then.
